Delta Dental of Arizona exists to improve lives by promoting optimal oral health. By wholeheartedly supporting the Central Arizona Dental Society Foundation’s Arizona Dental Mission of Mercy (AzMOM) event, DDAZ fulfills ITS mission to the fullest.  AzMOM provides dental care at no cost to literally thousands of people over two days each December. In 2012, the inaugural year of the event in Phoenix, Delta Dental of Arizona was a premier sponsor and AzMOM treated 1659 patients and provided $1,280,000 in care by 300 dentists, 300 hygienists and nearly 600 lay volunteers.

Delta Dental of Arizona again supported the event in 2013 where 2200 people received free dental care from 300 dentists and 1200 hygienists, support staff and volunteers. 12,000 procedures were conducted over the two-day period. The event’s benefits extend beyond their effect on patients and volunteers by engaging the whole community and bringing public awareness to the increasing difficulty low-income families, particularly adults, have to access critical dental care.

This year, the third AzMOM has grown to include more corporate and community support for the event. Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation, the 501(c)3 arm of Delta Dental of Arizona, will contribute to the event this year as the Foundation focuses on underserved and uninsured communities in Arizona.  In addition to thousands and thousands of dollars in treatment that is delivered over the weekend, the kindness and goodwill spread during those two days is immeasurable.
