We are adding to our Volunteer Wall of Fame again, which recognizes some of our outstanding volunteers! Year after year, we continue to be incredibly humbled by the hundreds of selfless, generous, loving and gracious individuals that we are fortunate to partner with at our annual AZ Mission of Mercy event…we truly work alongside some of the very best out there!
It is a joy to place these individuals in the spotlight, and highlight the recognition they deserve, for going above and beyond in donating their time and talents. This month we are featuring Chris Hansen, shown below! We are deep in the planning stages for this year’s 6th annual event being held December 8th & 9th, so keep an eye out for more spotlights to come, as well as event details and registration coming soon!!
THANK YOU to ALL of our volunteers for ALL that you do to help make AZMOM such a success, we can’t wait to see you all again in 6 months!! December 8th and 9th, 2017!!! #azmomcares
1- How many years have you been in dentistry? I have been a pharmacist for the past nine years. I am currently a physician assistant student at A.T. Still University, set to graduate in August 2017.
2- Who do you currently work for, and what is your title? I worked as a pharmacist for Target for seven years.
3- How many AZMOM events have you worked? I worked as a pharmacist for AZMOM for three years. The past two years, I have worked in the medical triage department.
4- Why is AZMOM important to you? AZMOM is important to me, as I am able to help those patients who are not able to afford dental care. I have seen first-hand through my years as a pharmacist and physician assistant student, that many are not able to access affordable dental care. This is an important event in our community.
5- Is there a significant memory/patient, from any of the AZMOM events you have participated in, that stands out to you? I enjoyed being the medical triage lead at last year’s event. From the planning stages to the actual event days, it was rewarding to see an interdisciplinary team come together and have a successful event.
6- What keeps you coming back to volunteer at AZMOM each year? I enjoy seeing the same patients returning to the clinic year after year. Giving back to the community is something I’ve enjoyed doing throughout my professional career. It’s also rewarding showing pharmacy and physician assistant students the importance of giving back to their profession and the community.
